There are lots of completely new bays in the TRO - not clear whether that number includes both.

From looking at some of the plans and local knowledge, I don't think any of the spaces I saw are actually going to areas of genuinely high parking pressure. Really just creating more hurdles to cross for any future attempt to civilise the street.

The 1200 figure is about additional parking, from what is currently yellow lines. There are also changes to bay types.

two permits per household

That means you would need space for 16 cars outside our block!

The 8 households in our block currently have one side of the road, with parallel parking - space for 3 cars.

“

“The argument put forward in the report is that the number of spaces has to rise to match the number of permits, given that council policy is to allow up to two permits per household.

“

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/politics/council/more-1200-new-parking-spaces-edinburgh-slammed-breathtakingly-hypocritical-2004307

Is this about allowing parking where it’s not currently allowed or letting permit holders park in pay-for bays (or both?)
