<description>&#60;p&#62;I've cycled that way a few times in the past, on DIY audaxes. I never used the A road any more than I had to though, preferring the Sustrans route which uses quiet back roads. Less direct but so much more civilised. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I daresay a segregated bike lane/shared use footway will be A Good Thing for commuters but perhaps not the most pleasant route.
