@Iwrats, indeed he handled it with aplomb. One tablet of Cascara Sagrada only.

Defecation scenes are tricky. I take my hat off to the great man.

@IWRATS I once started the defecation section of Ulysses out at the MARTELLO Tower in Dublin, way too early. I had the audience in the palm of my hand, by the time I got to the punchline they had all left the turret. I therefore recited the following to the four winds

It did not move or touch him, it was something quick and neat. Life might be so.

There is a fleeting nod to this line of La Passion considérée comme course de côte in Overlander;

La seconde pelle eut lieu au septième virage, sur du pavé gras.

I don't think anyone has ever noticed it.

Jarry wrote Supermale in 1902 just before the Tour de France was invented. In this book Jarry describes Perpetual Motion Food to help performance in an endurance cycle race of 10000Km.

So even before the tour started drugs were seen as helpful.

He has another one - The crucifixion considered as an uphill bicycle race

At one point in his existence in poverty he cycled the 80 mile return trip from Le Coudray to Paris each day. Used to also race the train.
