Nettle tops better than spinach. Let's keep ground elder for the hungry days after Full Brexit. Smells rank.

Wilted nettles and wilted wild garlic not the best

The garlic does tend to proliferte quickly but then die or lose potency. Nettles are best young I hear, but i am nettle incurious. Also when wedgewood tried to interest me in eating ground elder. Aye right

picked supplies for wild garlic/nettle pesto.
got ill.
they have wilted.
must try again.
Hopefully the garlic bulbs i lifted (from an overcrowded area) will take where I've planted them.

Getting late in the season. Tarry not.

Must get a last pesto done, Italian-style. We have Few-Flowered Garlic local to us. Fields of it.

Brilliant, thanks Gents. I knew CCE would come up with the goods.

Bax's location is on the weekend programme this weekend or next.

My known spots are the canal E between Philipstoun and Winchburgh, Rumbling Bridge and Dalmeny Estate.

Picked a carrier bag of nettles on a weekend walk. Tried a few leaves afyer blanching and the resulting stock, which were no great shakes, but really pleased with the two jars of pesto that we made. One was an Italian version with olive oil and parmesan, and the second wa all Scottish, with rapeseed oil and cheddar. Both good, preferred the Italian, but Scottish better value. Both delicious with oatcakes.

A fun family activity if you can access a good supply.

Hoping to find some wild garlic near us soon, known sources too far away right now. Will keep looking
