In the great Coen Bros. remake of True Grit. Rooster is going into the store. The kids are on the stoop torturing a donkey he walks past them then kicks them off the stoop. He gets his info in the store. He comes out. THe kids ain’t torturing the donkey no more, but he still boots them off the stoop again for good measure and surprise.

I watched Moroccan adolescents beat a donkey once. I was high on a hill with binoculars they were down in the valley with a length of timber and a pressing need for the beast to move. It didn't and I stopped watching before they killed it.

I like the way the metal guy pulled his socks up on the back of my remarks and then made a laughable papier mache horn for a gramophone. I mean he's the metal guy and they got him on newspaper and wallpaper paste and he lost the will to restore and never even painted it. I was crushed on his behalf as the tearful recipient (an old lady) did a WTAF face as she clocked the rudimentary horn. They were all mocking him. Leather, wood, books, soft toys. Jay Blades. All sniggering and going 'let's get him to restore a fish with plasticine next time ah-hahahah'.

@bax, aye, on theIplayer you have bill Paterson narrating his heart out serie 1, 5 and 6 and 2.3.4 welsh version of bill -Robert Pugh

You bring in some old tat with sentimental value. They employ exceptional artisanal skills and repair them. The leather person is superb in partic. At the end the sentimental punters come back to get their item and we all cry.

@IWRATS is not keen on the charge hand a certain Jay Blades (he says his name is his most interesting feature) also @IWRATS is not keen on the bookbinder (I think due to his pocket hankie?)

Was nice bike, series 6 episode 2? Porter rack, front and rear suspension. 2 gears changed by back pedalling. Basically cleaned it and removed rust by elbow grease. Worked well. The family were very grateful and took it for a spin.

@unhurt arrived at bottom of the garden to point out my old barrel had fallen to bits during the day. I have now dismantled it keeping the hoops and staves separately. I hope to be on series 7
