Reduces gearing to only 5, but a pretty wide range IIRC. Otherwise the XRD-8 costs a bit more but gives you 8 speeds.</p> <p>SRAM used to make hub gears with drum brakes but I'm not sure if you can get hold of them nowadays.</p> <p>* - RX-RD5 slightly less, not sure what the difference is in specs but seems to be 135mm OLD compared to 130mm on the XRD-5. Much fun.</p> <p>However, one has a SRAM S7 IGH with a coaster brake. That ain't gonna work with a Tongsheng TSDZ2, because the clutch within the motor itself won't allow any non-drive direction pressure on the chain.</p> <p>The frame has no other brake-mounting options, so I think the only option is to swap that IGH for one with a cable-actuated drum instead.</p> <p>Any suggestions from the hivemind? Definitely looking at the cheap/cheerful end of the spectrum. </p>
