If you go for sealed units you need to change the whole headset, cups and all. Not a huge job for a pro.

Thanks very much, have gone for those.

Finding the FSA website a bit confusing for which sealed ones correlate to this.

If remotely stiff in the future, I'll take it a bike shop and make sure to ask for some sealed ones.

Hard to tell exactly from the photo but I think you want these;

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Weldtite-Headset-Oversize-Precision-Bearings/dp/B00MY4Y9NE/ref=sr_1_13?

I would frankly change the head bearings over to sealed ones if you intend to keep the bike. FSA and Nukeproof have done me well in the past.

Posted a photo in an old Boardman CX thread of my incredibly worn headset ball bearings.

Ordered a replacement set but they not seem quite different.

Does anyone know if they these new ones will work?

old and new photographed together:
https://imgur.com/a/oueAuyT
old ones seem to face outwards, whereas these face in all directions.

Do these styles have names I can specifically buy ?

Thanks in advance
