Seemed odd.</p> <p>Couple of friends took part last year (we took them coffee and bacon rolls down at the Porty prom at 5am) and said the bureaucracy involved was really off-putting. Things like the day after putting in the booking she realised she'd put the wrong bra size for her boyfriend (well, it's unlikely to be known off the top of the head) and called to ask if she could change it. No, they hadn't processed their booking yet, but no, it couldn't be changed, you had to take what you'd put on the form, end of discussion.</p> <p>And the start area was apparently really poorly organised.</p> <p>Not that it's a BAD thing, don't get me wrong, all in a good cause and all thatbut sometimes I feel big charity events seem to think <em>they</em> are doing <em>you</em> a favour by letting you take part.</p> <p>I contribute to four different (I think) charities through regular donations, and do occasional one-off things (like this year's Caledonian Challenge after postponing last year).</p> <p>Clearly I'm in a curmudgeonly mood today.
