And indeed during several botched attempts to re-instate the protection for the tubes (from the spokes) the rim tape had frayed a little. Old tubes were used. To no avail as could not get the tyre back on. </p> <p>During the delay I offered out my Fruitellas. OUr other pal Trevor then had the brain wave of using slivers of mashed up Fruitella as a sort of glue to stick the rim tape back to the rim. Genius. Lasted 25 miles back to Balerno. </p>
