Quite a lot of tourists trekking up the Old Man of Storr path but not rammed.

Argument was he normally goes round the world so fine to make travel show in highlands......looked summery so maybe that was less risky then?

@crowriver - love the idea that Bwitons will show their exceptionality by using 1.6kw to lift some dust from the floor!
That chimes in nicely with the ignorant PM talking about importance of green economy for CoP (not).
Will Dyson make such items- imagine they would be banned in other markets using EU standards as a guide?

A cargo trike can move 300kg with 0.25Kw motor - but they're made in EU. Motor rating is not important if used correctly. Also increases range of battery.

Sorry too much politics

Perhaps

Depends on a lot of things

Are there any greenhouses left?

Has the land been repurposed (or left derelict)?

Will the supply from the Netherlands be disrupted permanently (or unviable due to new tariffs)?

Has global warming reduced the need for heat?

Are there any local wind farms that might supply cheap electricity?

Are there new plant varieties requiring lower inputs?

Etc.

See the "Fairy Pools" on Skye for an example of this - nothing to do with coronavirus. The first time I went there, probably over a decade ago, there was a narrow path and we had the place to ourselves (admittedly it was raining heavily, which is why we weren't up in the Cullin in the first place). Last time I went (a couple of years ago, on a sunny day) the path had become an eroded motorway, and just about every pool had occupants. The parking issues there are well known.

Thinking on it, there's been a general increase in tourism in Scotland anyhow. The TripAdvisor effect I suppose. Was in Arisaig last October during half term, stayed in the hostel (hotel next door fully booked). Hostel deserted except for us. We were the only passengers to alight from train at Arisaig also.

Took a walk around the bay and had to constantly jump off the road due to sightseers in cars. They would pass you on the way out to a beach, then ten minutes later pass you again on their way back. It was a bit breezy and chilly so maybe they never left their vehicles. I have been going to Arisaig off and on for a long time. Twenty years ago at the same time of year you'd hardly see a soul on those same single track roads. Hate to think what it must be like there in summer. Next year it is off the list. The prospect of massed denizens of Brexitania descending upon the Highlands due to lack of forrin 'olidays opportunities fills me with dread.

Will try to think of more isolated spots, not near roads to wild camp. I will not be sharing them here as the internet has MANY EYES.
