People respond to incentives and so, if society as a whole wants to change the way people travel and where they live, it needs to get to a state where a family having 2-3 cars and driving everywhere is not both the cheapest and most convenient option.</p> <p>It costs about £150 a month just to bus/train to Fife, by the way, and you don't even have the use of a car for all your other journeys.
