<description>&#60;p&#62;Fascinating!  I think this is the tricycle he rode - &#34;Cheylesmore&#34;.  He wrote the total weight, including luggage, was 182lbs!&#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;Yes... had a moan about it on Twitter.&#60;br /&#62;
Mrs LB and I are lucky to be able to take time off and always wanted to stay in Anstruther and visit St Monans, Crail etc. Our option was to use the Ember bus to Kinross and skirt Loch Leven on A911 + A915 to East Neuk. We just took A roads as our cycling was to 'go somewhere' directly - not an unreasonable request and one very popular with many car and motorhome users! There were signs of bike paths in places but often past the start you couldn't join.

<description>&#60;p&#62;&#60;blockquote&#62;Worth reading these old accounts to make us realise what softies we have become &#60;/blockquote&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Many of these bearded 1881 guys were in their 20s though. Probably never made it to 1900!&#60;br /&#62;
Other cyclists are always fitter, faster, smarter etc etc.&#60;br /&#62;
Average human we met on our recent trip from Kinross to Strathardle spent most of their time in a car. They would then park and walk somewhere to get a bite to eat after a tiring drive as the 'roads are so busy'. (!)

<description>&#60;p&#62;Came across a great listing of Victorian cycle  journals/books  on crazyguyonabike web site&#60;br /&#62;
Good links to digitised versions accessible for free reading on line&#60;br /&#62;
Particularly enjoyed an account of travels around Scotland in 1881 on an iron tricycle by a gent under the name of Nauticus&#60;br /&#62;
Quite riveting (sorry)&#60;br /&#62;
Worth reading these old accounts to make us realise what softies we have become
