<description>&#60;p&#62;I was in Auckland a few years ago and the cycling provision was spasmodic. There's a cycle route along the harbour, and someone had parked in it and was clearing out their camper van.  It does seem to have picked up though, with a route over the harbour bridge. Given the climate and the sprawling nature of the city, it should be a natural for cycling. But it has been built around the car.
