Coltbridge Gardens is a pretty road, with a fabby view of the viaduct, but also a cul-de-sac. It would be great if it were part of a walking/cycling route. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=20956#post-360772 Wed, 25 May 2022 10:21:32 +0000 chdot 360772@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>“probably be a better use of money to put in decent on road facilities”</p> <p>NOT an either or - especially if it’s paid for by developer contribution. </p> <p>The point of links like this is to encourage more people to explore, walk and cycle in places away from roads/noise/pollution/danger. </p> <p>Certainly not just a ‘cycle facility’ or ‘transport route’.</p> <p>Point is, local people are advocating it <em>and</em> it’s a ‘planning opportunity’ that could easily be lost - for ever.</p> <p>Another useful WoL bridge would be by the bowling green on Coltbridge Gardens. </p> <p>As well as a useful link for locals it would avoid the steps from Roseburn Cliff.
