<description>&#60;p&#62;I suspect the &#34;jobs&#34; are coming from apps like Gett and they know, or think they know, that they will get some sort of penalty for refusing/cancelling. &#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;Twice recently I've flagged down a taxi with its yellow light on, only to be told &#34;sorry mate, I've just been given a job&#34;.  I'd have thought that the first thing the driver should do if they've taken a booked job is turn their light off - or are the booked jobs allocated automatically these days and they don't have any choice in the matter?  Even if that is the case it stilll seems pretty poor, especially if - as happened to us on one recent occasion - it's the last cab turning up at Waverley's so-called &#34;taxi rank&#34; to pick up the last passenger waiting (or don't they tell each other how many cabs are needed at the ranks these days, either?)
