Oh dear. To forewarn you @JackRMCaldwell @SpokesLothian @CllrScottArthur the end of Dalmeny Street is now suffering from the same hugely obvious issues as happened to Brunswick Street

@boothym, it was indeed the same situation, with the no entry sign in the distance. What isn't shown is the one way signs at the other end with no warning of on-coming bikes.

It's somewhat academic now as, for the next three weeks, the one way direction has switched, with even more rubbish signage which cars were ignoring on the first Sunday.

(assuming you mean "no entry" signs)

The road is part of Quiet Route 20 and the one way was apparently installed "...to increase safety for cyclists as part of national cycle network route" so you'd think it would still be two way for bikes.

Is it still the same situation as this picture posted on Twitter in July?

My understanding is that you're right, but I'm not 100% sure.

The TRO is clear for the bit between Leith Walk and Dicksonfield — cycling is allowed in both directions.

That TRO doesn't mention what happens past Dicksonfield, though. I didn't think this bit was actually a one-way street (e.g., anyone coming out of Dicksonfield is allowed to turn in either direction), but if there's signage saying so, then I have quite possibly misunderstood.

Hi,

When I cycle south east on McDonald Rd and cross Leith Walk, I see a 'one way' sign at the end of Brunswick Rd but a sign under that saying 'except cycles', so I progress forward. However, just after Dicksonfield on the left, there's another 'one way' sign with no reference to cycles.

Am I to turn down Dicksohnfield (or Alanfield) and negitate the shared paths thereafter?

I have cycled onwards, only for drivers to drive at me, blaring horns, forcing me off the road, and screaming "it's one way". But, is it?! I can't tell from the signs alone.

Looking for advice. Is this the best place, or should I email the council and, if so, whom?

Thanks
Gavin
