Maybe if we can split the ACH vote with the tories

Just to be clear, these are Westminster constituencies; it is Christine Jardine who represents Edinburgh West, rather than ACH.

(I realise that doesn't necessarily stop there being an "ACH vote" at Westminster, but thought it was worth clarifying.)

Maybe if we can split the ACH vote with the tories, Edinburgh West might get something other than lib dems in perpituity.

@CycleAlex You're right enough, dunno how I managed to get that back to front. So it's Edinburgh West that will be gifted more of our carbrained friends then, probably less of a big deal given the existing tendency towards Lib Dems in that part of the city.

@Yodhrin Unless I’m missing something, are they not doing the exact opposite with Edinburgh North and Leith?

The Edinburgh proposals look pretty straightforward, at a first glance, anyway.

Elsewhere, Clackmannanshire and Forth Valley is an...interesting...one. It'd span three different council areas, which are separated by the Forth and the Ochils. Good luck to any prospective candidate thinking of getting round it without a car.

https://www.bcs2023review.com/

Technically not cycling related, but everything is political alas and this will likely make things more trying in that regard. The headline is Scotland losing two seats, but far more impactful will be the naked gerrymandering going on with those that remain. The Review committee will of course claim powerlessness, they're working within the constraints set by Westminster, but of course those constraints were set to generate a desired outcome.

A good example is where I live; Edinburgh North & Leith. They're carving away a section of Muirhouse and replacing it with a big chunk of Orchard Brae, Craigleith, Ravelston, and Blackhall. I'm sure it's a complete coincidence that the former contains some of the most deprived(bottom 10th & 20th deciles) areas in Edinburgh and the latter some of the most well off(top 10%), which will have a significant impact in a seat that already has more Tory-leaning leafy bits than most.

They want a lot of personal info(and permission to make it public) before they'll let you comment, but if that doesn't bother you have a look around areas you know and see what shenanigans are planned.
