Mk 2 first production model will vary but was lighter than current Mk6 or 7

Front forks lighter blades, & 1" steerer vs 1.25"

Main frame pre machine brazed lugs & approx 1" shorter wheelbase

Rear frame, much lighter tube & hinge plates (I destroyed at least 6 before redesign of plate/tube brazing arrangement

Handlebars strengthened to remove risk of snapping

Tyres - Raleigh records with cheap & heavy tubes weigh about 2 x weight of Primo with decent (Schwalbe/Michelin) 400A & presta valves

Mine is "old style" but was updated to have the catch so it didn't self fold.

There is an older style again, which has a slightly different frame.

What I would say is that weight will vary a bit around front luggage block (grammes), mudguards or not and rear rack or not, plus of course gearing and dynamo (rim or hub) lighting, then there's handle bar type and seatpost height / type..... that's before getting to the "lightweight" versions with the titanium bits and pieces.....

Guess it would all be down to how accurate you need the weight to be?

I'm pretty sure there was an on-line configurator that used to give you the basic weight and then told you plus or minus grammes for the various options (along with the price!).

I could weigh my current Brompton, which is not old style, if you like? I don't think it weighs much different to the previous one I had. The old Brompton didn't have the rear catch like the current one, but it did not start to fold up when you got off it.
