“

A living legend of endurance racing, Wilcox is planning to complete the 18,020-mile journey in about 110 days, which would beat the current record, held by Scottish cyclist Jenny Graham, by a neat fortnight. To achieve that, Wilcox will have to cover an average of 164 miles a day for the next 81 days and expects to be in the saddle for between 12 and 14 hours at a stretch. “Every day is like a marathon,” she says, “and then I go to sleep and do it all again.”

@gembo Nashy's in Cardrona is no more. Maybe if someone didn't make that waitress cry... anyway, they have a small takeaway place in Inners now but I haven't tried it as there are other nice options in Inners. Turns out Inners has far more (and cheaper) accommodation options than Peebles but I didn't think that running back to Inners at 9-10pm would be fun for MrBill!

coco black is good. Mrs Gembo says is quite nice but doesn’t stock her favourite she calls Violent Creams (violet creams). I thought it was a tiny bit up itself but generally good.

Ah yes, Inners to Peebles is a nice path to run. Could even stop at Nashy’s

@gembo i heard it was (mostly) open. Maybe fully open now. Last I heard was that two bridges were still not open but you could walk around. I was going suggest to Mr Bill to go for a run along the path. Or to Inners.

Too much running on busy roads from Biggar.

I have Coco-Black on the list as well. It will be new experience after the usual BP garage.

Mr Bill could catch his favoured 101 to Biggar and run to Peebles as the community has saved it or just catch the 62 all the way. Check out Milne and Pickles the Cheese and Wine shop it is great. Also see if the feckin cycle path has ever opened. Ta

We are going down to Peebles for it and we decided to make a weekend out of it.

I will cycle down and plan to join the ride out (I think it's all women's Peebles CC ride out with Jenny to Biggar via Dreva, Broughton), Mr Bill will catch the bus down. We decided to stay overnight as the talk is at 7.30pm. Apparently out hotel gives us a pass to Peebles hydro so any recommendations of the facilities to use are very welcome!

Very much looking forward to it.
