Day of the bicycle - April 19 .Strange it wasn’t celebrated on this forum.
It apparently originates from the day in 1943 when a Swiss scientist felt a bit queasy in his laboratory and decided to cycle home . A certain Albert Hoffman who had unwittingly ingested a significant dose of LSD in his lab and found more than his pedals were spinning on his ride home.
Never tried that in my misspent youth , but certainly rural rides after partaking of sweet Mary Jane were most enjoyable and gave pot holes a whole new meaning.
Now rely on my own internal dope factory to start production while cycling to furnish me with endorphins, serotonin and dopamines which apparently act on the brain pretty much in the same way as Doña Juanita.
