Depends who has told him? I guess. (I am. Not opening Hootsman). The roundabout remains a very clogged up pinch point of many roads with much more traffic on them than originally conceived. Underpasses and particularly flyovers unlikely to make any difference

I think like with he LibDem person Sanne Diijkstra Downie it is possible to cycle like Scott and Sanne do but at the same time not support cycling - Motornormativity.

Despite a media and business class inherently hostile to increased powers for Scottish governance the voters have delivered a verdict (unless you think elections are futile?). Constituency votes are consistently pro Indy, bolstered by the two greens. Under FPTP this would be a seismic event. A massive amount of SNP second List votes were wasted.

But of course the Green/SNP mix still adds up to 73 as it was before.(!)
The Reform contingent and others represented by a system and parliament they don't believe in will now claim nothing has changed?
Maybe endless no change will produce change? I live in hope that England will one day be allowed to govern itself along with its neighbours on this island and the one adjacent.

@gembo "My reading is that SNP second votes went tot he Greens."

More the reverse IME. Frankly I'm tired enough of the SNP's backsliding on a lot of stuff since Sturgeon left that if there had been a Green candidate on my constituency ballot they would have gotten my vote there and damn the consequences, but as it was it was SNP or the rest of them so I held my nose. By contrast a lot of the diehard SNP folk I know were hardcore back in "Both Votes SNP" mode, to the extent a couple of them even got a bit snippy with me when they found out I'd be voting Green on the list despite knowing fine well my personal politics - a lot of them really bought into Swinney's "only an SNP majority guarantees a referendum" buffoonery(which I'm sure now won't be thrown back in our face for the next decade like "once in a generation" was until recently...).

In the first passed the post bit of the election the Greens went up a percent of the vote to 2.4% but managed to secures Two seats. Their second vote was much higher but Tories and Libdems received way more votes than them if you combine first and second votes. My reading is that SNP second votes went tot he Greens. Reform mainly taking from Tories is the other thing in Scotland. Whilst voting for Fascists is despicable, only 380000 people did so. Is my take, So very bad but not as bad as England or Wales. I am assuming Reform voters mainly voted Reform 1 and 2

Will the Sanne Dijkstra-Downie new list MSP for the Greens do anything about cycling? She didn’t as a councillor despite cycling everywhere and talking a good game? Assuming she is in? Must check. I know that Q is in.ah sadly she wont as too far down the list Oooopsshe will just have to content herself with talkin loud and doin nuthin as a councillor
