What a nightmare, all the best for a speedy recovery. Have seen some similar sounding groups around, but thankfully never had an issue.

Police have reported on it at Northfield and Willowbrae Community Council - it's an issue in a lot of the local parks as well as along the prom - bet seem powerless to act on it. Worth reporting it just for the stats though.

Yeah, these muppets are a fairly common sight on the prom sadly. I get they're hard to police, but still think more could be effectively done.

Thanks Laidback. Estimated recovery time for injury isn’t too long so hope to get back on the bike in a month or so

@Bernard H
A pretty aggressive incident on the widest and quietest bit of prom. Sorry to hear of your injuries and hope you get back on bike soon.
Incidents like this do occur now. Even at the Sea Rising Festival I saw a couple of 'yoofs' on e-bikes with balaclavas - not Deliveroo riders. Looked like part of the gang that cruise around into town.
Worrying thing to happen. Thanks for posting.

Hi, Apologies if this is covered somewhere else. I was cycling along portobello prom yesterday. Just along from the cat and dog home heading into Portobello. There were a couple of boys, teenagers I think, cycling towards me. At the last moment one of them shouted and cycled straight towards me. I had to swerve to avoid him and came of my bike. Ended up in A&E, dented helmet and an AC Joint injury and not what I assumed was a dislocated shoulder.

Just wanted to let you know to look out for them and apologies if this is posted elsewhere. Thanks to ERI A&E for sorting me out.
