Pre e-bikes. Orange Fujin recliner has QR code pre Covid.
Still have an orange low racer but that hardtail one was stolen.

@mcairney, there's a thread for that:

http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=1784 (pics on page 5+).

We did ride up Gloucester Lane, after mucking around in Dean village, and before we rode up Dublin Street.

Also, their meatspace route marking appears to involve coloured tape on lamp posts.

On the way here I noticed numerous tape markers - Ukraine solidarity flags, trans pride, suffragette colours, St Andrew cross made of tape, ...

Often multiple "flags" in competition (most notably with trans pride and suffragette colours but a few of the Ukraine flagged lampposts also sported a Russian tape flag - clearly some tankies in Edinburgh)

It would rapidly get confusing. Though I guess if "the plan" is really to have everyone staring at their phones anyway this is less of an issue.

Yep that looks spicy:
https://www.strava.com/segments/12700490

Gloucester St is the really steep bit at the beginning of that segment and nudges over the 20% mark near the end....

Challenge accepted? (though with my current level of fitness I won't be bothering the sharp end of the leaderboard)

My immediate thought on seeing the title was as @Morningsider stated - Simon Parker

I didnt read the actual thread until now and indeed Simon Parker Lives. His niece should she exist and not just have been Simon in disguise will be a grown woman now and no longer interested in defending her uncle from the ruffians of CCE

Because one time a man in power told a woman also in power she should just 'man up' and cycle up Easter Road, and now we've gone the other way entirely, but forgotten about hills.

I for one would rather cycle up North Bridge than the unPleasance.

Why don't we get to go across the nicely graded North Bridge? Or the direct Lothian Rd?

Yellow route sending cyclists up Gloucester St - possibly the steepest street in Edinburgh. And covered in lumpy setts too.

@Morningsider, my thoughts too this morning!

The bike navigation system points riders to a safe network. It combines digital navigation with on-street colour-coded wayfinding. The routes are represented by coloured lines, just like in subway systems, making cycling simple and safe.

Simple and safe is what the Dutch invented decades ago and their navigation system doesn't require electricity and looking at a phone.

“

Innovative cycling navigation is being developed in Scotland to encourage more people to ride by directing them to the safest route for their journey.

It involves the creation of a city network of colour-coded routes displayed like the London Underground map, with cyclists guided by colours attached to lamp posts
