@ejstubbs

There are a few of these guys who speed and do wheelies around Corstorphine as well. Think it’s a city wide problem rather than just one or two individuals. The Corstorphine ones keep a regular schedule and appear every night at the same time on St John’s Road.

Perhaps they could be safely identified by a few police hiding in a likely spot with water pistols filled with the SmartWater security marking stuff?

I regularly hear something petrol-motored moving fast on the canal path in the late afternoons (can't see because wall).

@ejstubbs there was a mini action on Dundee street a few months ago. afaik the only impact was more deliveroo drivers on the canal path.

derestricted I assume you mean?

On Monday afternoon ~2:30pm there was a young ned* clad all in black - including the obligatory black balaclava - wheeling his illegal black e-motorcycle at speed (>>20mph) westbound along Shandwick Place. Impressive bike handling skills but it was practically silent and I doubt the result would have been pretty had someone stepped off the pavement in front of him having not heard his approach.

It might have been the same guy I've seen two-up on Comiston Road, and it might have been one of the near-identical pair I once saw riding through Braidburn Valley Park. Or there may be more of them around than that. Either way, I can't help thinking it's about time there was a bit of a crackdown on illegal e-bikes/e-motorcycles, such as as I understand has recently been carried out in Manchester, and as reported in the Gruaniad article highlighted by MediumDave on the electric bike thread a few days back.

* Possibly should have been in school?

There is a restricted e-bike n WoL Path and round to Murrayfield. Flat bars with brakes pointing horizontal

At 30mph

Not good

Sometimes with a passenger makes him worse. Look out,
