Unfortunately I can't make it this time, but I would encourage anyone thinking about it to just give it a go. PoP is a joyous occasion and pretty much every attendee is super friendly. You just have to be a visible presence on the day, helping keep people moving. We give loads of instruction on the day to explain what you need to do and how you need to do it. We keep in touch via our phones because they're more reliable than walkie-talkies. This means that there's no barrier to being able to join in and ask questions if you ever have any concerns. The Head Marshal on the day and the Deputy Head Marshal will be available to take calls and Signal (app) messages and be able to support any issues.</p> <p>We'll have Marshals dotted about the whole route and some cycling with the actual protest as well. These Marshals will be aiming to just keep people moving, keep people off the pavements, and in the case of an emergency just shout out and help people understand that they need to move to the side or clear the area.
