That stretch must be about the worst surface in Edinburgh, I ride through fairly regularly and have been wondering for a while whether there were any plans to resurface. It's a shame the shared use pavement between the prom and McDonalds can't be extended all the way to Baltic At.

Yes, I don't know if that suspension was time-limited, or if it was ever revoked ???

I vaguely recall that in the past the policy was that active travel improvements would always be carried out "in tandem" with road resurfacing. Indeed, the presumption was that road resurfacing would always come with improvements for active travel if they could be identified.

I also recall though that for budgetary reasons there was a vote to suspend that...

Seafield Rd is getting resurfaced from Marine Esplanade to Constitution St.

This forms a large section of what would be the Hawthornvale path to Seafield "Leith Connections" segregated cycle lanes

Except we're not getting any cycle lanes with this work

Surely, it would make sense to do it all at once, rather than dig the road up twice, at double the cost?

Or perhaps the intention is to never give us any segregated lanes at all, and just continue to troll us with ever more never-to-be-implemented fancy plans?

Infuriating!
