I think ruggtomcat is more worried about his Carry Freedom Y frame trailer...

With 'bent I'd just remove front disc braked wheel and lock up just to make it extra unattractive. That and get a Bianchi paint job:-)
No offence intended to any Bianchi owners

I thought that Laidback explained to all his customer's that no <strike>normal</strike> upright sort of a person would steal a recumbent? :)

no still have then, the first lock i got was huge and heavy, cos i didn't know better, now i have a mini-D-lock which is practical but only silver rated and I need a new one for the 'bent + trailer (the big D lock fits but I know how vulnerable it is to jacking).

I was looking at this protector chain which would do the job at a weight cost. How long do you think I need? 2m is excessive and I can bring the weight (and cost) down by getting it shorter, maybe 1.2?

When I saw this I wondered what my liability would be.

Hope you get injury cooled down SRD.

Almost all locks are a faff which involve crouching down.
Colour code if direction of bar isn't easy to see.

Cable locks have a tendency to spring back and hit you on the face too. I sometimes think I'd be better with cable and hardened padlock.

My lighter lock from EBC will relock sans key, which is a much better system.
Unless you forget the key. Been there - done that.

"A Daily Mail headline would be "Innocent lock mauled by hooligan cyclist""

Yeah, and would have pointed out that she wasn't wearing a helmet. Er. On her face.

@chdot - headline was a tease for Laidback, who worries too much about the safety of those on the bikes he sells!

@Min - good question! Something to do with putting cover on bike before remembering that it needed locking, then putting lock upside down (one of the reasons I hate the Abus is that the cable can only go on one side of the D), and the key is very fiddly. My lighter lock from EBC will relock sans key, which is a much better system. And as I was leaning over, trying to make the key 'go' the lock rebounded into my face. Just a reflection of my klutziness, I think. Luckily it was at home, so icepack close at hand.

Nope, can't blame the stand, brakes, seatpost etc etc. The *£$@~# heavy end of my hated Abus D lock split my lip. Could be worse, but makes me look like I got into a punch-up with a driver...
