Its not the tires, its the pilot! Well, mostly. The first one was cos i lost traction doing 1mph comming up out of the innocent, The second was trying to start on a hill and the third was trying to get past the bollards at the Espy, a bugbear of mine where Ive fallen twice and never succeeded in passing through without a foot down otherwise. Weirdly I can come back the other way no problem.

Its always like this with learning curves, I actually made some pretty nifty maneuvers today, but because I was trying harder things, I started falling again.

@Arellcat Where can I get some of that hip armor we were talking about...?

Laidback is gonna charge me for a new paint job when I give it back.... (just joking, the rack and pedals take the brunt of it.)

I'm starting to worry now... Kojaks are really not winter tyres. May need to recall you for a tyre change!

@K-put 'off', definitely. Unless its a velomobile.

@Mabs. Its not nearly so bad, but you bruise your hips/elbows rather than your hands/knees. I like lie there for a bit as its very relaxing. Gets a little embarrassing tho.

Went from George Square ==> King's Building ==> Innocent Railway ==> Musleburgh ==> Cockenzie ==> Turn around off to Leith ==> Roseburn to Haymarket through to Nicholson St to meet the missus and walk back to Dalry.

The start George Square to KB was hard work as I am pretty run down but once I got going on the Inoccent there was no stopping me.

Cycling is way too much fun. Even with the intensley hot burning feeling in my knees.
I better do some studying tomorrow or there'll be no cycling time soon!

@ruggtomcat I suppose with less distance to fall the bruises are less or is it a case of difference injuries?

So? how did it go?

I went Porty => Crammond Brig => Princes street => Porty => Wallyford (big hill!) => Porty. Fell off three times (this is killing my experience score) all at low speed but narrowly missed a fourth at 30+ mph.

Beer now :D

Musselburgh to Leith passes 5 minutes from my front door (assuming heading along the prom at Portobello). Not sure I'll be in though...

I realise this is of no help whatsoever.

Evening y'all.
To escape attempts at studying tomorrow I shall be walking my girlfriend to class at George Square.
As she'll be tucked away for 2 hours or so I intend to ride for those two hoursdeparting from said location.

I was thinking of Mussleburgh to Leith etc again and trying it a bit faster but I do fancy another route.
Perhaps out the canal take a turn somewhere and do a loop?
I'm not keen on there and back routes.

Any recomendations folks?
Also if anyone else is free, fancies a coffe/tea etc let me know. These are lonely roads at times ;)
