A proper trench coat should already be a pretty storm proof and practical coat. Just pop a reflective vest or Sam Browne over it and you've achieved the same and would be suitable for the more elegance-conscious cylists - hims and hers.

If you want to cycle in stockings and heels, not even that coat is going to keep you pristine.

I actually thought the future of bike clothing was more like Bspoke's offerings (not just for gurls, though). The Angel jacket for example has all the necessary bikey stuff like a bum flap and reflective belt and a hood and waterproof fabric and so on, but as I discovered, it's not actually cut very well for anyone over 5'6", nor does Bspoke recognise that taller ≠ bigger.

I think that full length coats are meant to be worn with 'Dutch' bikes, which do generally mount the rear light on the rack or on the mudguard. It's perhaps all us high-powered urban warriors who prefer rear lights higher up on the seatpost. And anyway, beige coats are a bit bleurgh for me too.

I think it's pretty neat and the reflective bits are a good idea - I'd go for it in black or grey, that beige colour is not for me. I've always liked the way you don't have to have lots of specialist gear to go for a ride (as opposed to other sports/exercise things) so it would fit with that ethos.

Is a good point about the rear lights though - I ride a step through and I have had someone stop me to tell me that my knee-length coat is covering the back light which I've got on my seat post. Rack lights are probably the way forward. Or not needing to wear big heavy coats any more for a while because it's almost spring, hurrah!

It would with a diamond frame but not with a step-through, which, if you are that concerned about style you are probably riding.

Mean to add-I like it.

Kirst - sooo glad I was not the only one to think that (and ignore the style issues). Of course my fabby-doo racklights wouldn't be a problem!

Now *that* is the future of bike clothing.

Of course, not being in the target audience I can't really comment on whether this particular one is a "win" or not. But it looks good to me ;-)
