If they catch on there'll be trouble!

One last pic on our retreat from show.... think we were the only stand to do it without a van. EBC may have used electric bike out, not sure.

Tandem and trailer went out again later this afternoon (without me) -- some difficulties reported in parking at Waitrose, but concept much admired at Harrison Park.

Hitch seems fine; many thanks for ingenious solution - stop worrying!

Had a good first ride with stoker on tandem and tot in trailer

Well done. Is hitch still tight?

Here's some more from OP show. This mum and daughter loved tandem. I also must have demoed the trike to over 60 people over two days. Many were very young though and didn't have money.

The main route for bikes to RHC. Notice 'desire lines"

Had a good first ride with stoker on tandem and tot in trailer - bike looked fab, and handled surprisingly well, except for the headwind. Will post some pictures when the weather's better!

SRD the school run rather than adventure sports.

According to Kim commuting on a bike in UK is considered to be an adventure sport.

The show did cover things like camping so it wasn't all 'pushing limits' stuff

Today was as busy and did have more tandem interest so we'll see.

No surprises there surely? with the exception of those looking for a bike for distance trips, the tandem's niche certainly seems to be the school run rather than adventure sports.

Have you checked out the bike Friday tandem? http://www.bikefriday.com/tandem

Very similar concept to Helios and specifically marketed as 'family tandem'

...were the Segways from Crieff Hydro!

Despite LB's massive advertising onslaught what mum, dad and kids want to try is something they can't fall of and don't have to pedal.
I was sharing a test area with them so was able to guage their 'attraction' close up. The young guy who was in charge was keen MTB'r but the Hydro's corporate clients prefer powered mobility aids. He was pretty skilful though.

I had odd experience of Crieff Hyrdro leaving stand for lunch and having people begging me to demo the Segways... then getting blame when all I could offer then were bikes. Some though reluctantly tried the trike and I started to get more interest. By end of day I covered around 40 plus try outs. 90% trike with crank shorteners for the smallest ones. Then the two wheeled Fuego. Least interest was in the tandem.

Some blurry pics to show the odd mix. I think though that the Scotsman have done a good event... Irene had busy time on stand and we might sell a bike if lucky.

I had lovely fast cycle back on Fuego after show - so I'm happy!
