I missed the Trakkes when I was there - my coverage of the stalls was obviously not as thorough as I intended/thought. I was too busy repeating the phrase "for snow and loose sand" to the various punters who came to gaze in awe at the Pugsley on TBC's stand (Sunday only).

The Trakke bags look good - will be interested in seeing your review.

@cyclingmollie - marshalls aren't doing cycling sponsorship - at least for this season - which explains their absence.

The wackiest recumbent in the west - perhaps Arellcat can identify? (Laidback claims not to know much about LWB recumbocycles)

Fear not, Kaputnik and LB, it's the excellent Radius Peer Gynt. Seems to have lost both its decals and its nylon chain guard. A bit like an Easy Racers Fold Rush in the rear suspension arrangement.

I bought my ticket in advance so it only cost £7.50. I think I would've stayed for an hour or two and then left, had the CCE crew not been around for company, but then again I went there with an open mind, my camera, and nothing on my shopping list. The Trakke bags looked really excellent, and are actually sewn by a sail maker I think. But I'm already bagged out and didn't need another.

Next year? Maybe. And I'll make sure to bring fresh batteries in my flashgun, too.

I'd also like to add that the Trakke courier bags were awesome. So awesome in fact I bought the largest one I could find! Full review to follow at some point or t'uther. I was well impressed to find a really useful and well thought out piece of kit that is designed and made locally in Scotland at a very reasonable price. I couldn't help but support them by parting with some of my cash.

Agree with CM that it would have been good if more of the sample bikes had been available to ride (kudos to TBC for letting everyone zip about the exhibition hall on their wares).

Overall it was not bad for a first attempt and I hope they can build on this success to make a bigger and better show next year. If the suppliers who made the effort to turn up and put on such a good show recouped their investment (I did see a certain Bikechain member of staff comparing his wad with the guy at the Perso's stand! certainly had enough inches in that department to fill a SMEG full of Bundaberg a number of times over!) and want to come back for more next year then hopefully it can attract other names along. I *think* continental were the only "big-name" supplier there, but their stand seemed pretty rubbish to be honest - a rack of tyres for sale, the sample board you can see in most LBSs and some seriously disinterested and surly staff.

Unfortunately my camera seems to not have saved (nothing to do with me guv', it was the camera, 'onest!) the various photos I took of the crappy bits of NCN75... These are what I did manage to save.

We all went to Glasgow for the day and my middle daughter and I sloped off the the SBS for a couple of hours. We got in free as my wife knows one of the traders.
Afterwards I was describing it to her and while I initially felt that it would have been disappointing if we'd gone there from Musselburgh specially and paid full price I remembered loads of things about it that were actually pretty good - the Trakke bags, Pedro packs made from innner-tubes, the wooden bike project, all the holiday ideas (and leaflets), the cycling demo's, the friendly stall staff.
It was just a bit too busy to get the chance to chat so I had to leave David to get on with his busy recumbent stand and pass by several places where a bit of dialogue would have been welcome (Renner, the stand selling cool little patch kits).
For next year (and I hope this does become a regular event) I'd like to see some of the exhibitors who seemed oddly absent - Rapha, Marshall's Pasta, Evans, EBC, Endura. And a personal preference, a lot more clothing companies showing their full range, not necessarily to buy but just to try on. It's the one area of cycle retail where hands-on is essential: how about Shutt or Foska? And how awesome would it have been if the Macmillan (?) replica had been available to ride in the try-out area?
For the record my daughter preferred Hamley's in the St Enoch Centre.
