Plenty of sunlight in the Borders. I gave up waiting for it to clear in Balerno around 10:30 and headed off South for a 205km loop. Some wonderful, quiet lanes were experienced - and a couple of decent climbs. Back for 8pm,so no lights needed.

Came out in Balerno about 13.30pm, was quite hot, feel a little burnt (I have caught the sun as my granny said) went for walk with family and another family along the Lymphoy (The mother of the other family has a Specialized Dolce and a Specialized Vita). Life Is Sweet. Showed them the Gravestone to the small stone coffins along at Currie. Cleaned a bike and a lot of dove guano off the car using Midline Bike Degreaser (watered down) on both vehicles.

Have just come back from RBGE. Much nicer here is Eskbank!

Midlothian should advertise its sunny wares to Edinburgh folk more.

Yes, it's a coastal haar and very localised. On Wednesday the grammar school was in blazing sunshine while the High Street was overcast and freezing; they're about a quarter of a mile apart.

Apparently somewhere past Ratho.

I was relying on the haar to lift at lunchtime for it to be warm enough to dry paint!
