The market again will find a solution based on differential pricing. You can see this with 'first 30 minutes free' bays - there's no reason why George St couldn't be £2.60/h for the first 3 hours, rising to £20.00/h thereafter (or whatever figure is found to have the desired effect).</p> <p>The only problem is that parking fines would need to rise to take account of the savings available on higher charges.
