If they were saying "we're no longer going to plant any trees", that would be different. But they aren't. The article points out that trees can easily live upwards of 75 years. I think too many people expect the Council to do Everything these days. When you look at what we get for our council tax, it does go a long way.</p> <p>I was told of a program presented by Evan Davies (I think) who takes away everything from a single street (except Plice, NHS, Fire and Education, in London and give them their council tax, to decide to pay for everything from their own small budget.
