Cycle parking at new Riverside Museum has been reported as completed full on several occasions, and is quite full even on a wet day here.

Stands are all at slightly different angles, so will cost somewhat more than standard stands.

Also doubles as cycle parking for adjacent ferry to Govan for those not taking bike onto ferry.

"

Had a big dosa in the Banana Leaf. It was strangely delicious and not like normal Scottish Indian restaurants. One of the friends I went with has spent the last two years in Sri Lanka and India and she loved it. We will be back before she goes away again in August.

I caught the tail end of the Riverside show when I turned over for Newsnight, I'll get it on iPlayer later.

It does sort of know about the M74 extension. It appears on the screen when you go past it on the M8. I'll try updating it tomorrow and see it has turned into a real road.

Of course Tomtom doesn't know about our street and we've lived here for two years.

I'm going to try out the Banana Leaf today, I meant to go a year and half ago but there were complications.

Another thing which annoyed the memsahib was the cycle route painted on the pavement between Bunhouse Rd and the river. Boys were at risk from people on full suspension machines wearing all the "safety" kit the could find in the shop. Number 3 son was actually hit by one.

It's about 10-15 minutes walk away.

From the front door of the old one walk south up to the end of Bunhouse Rd and turn right to head west along Old Dumbarton Rd. Bear left into Ferry Rd. Keep going until you get to the Express way. Turn right down to the underpass. Walk along the side of the Kelvin, under the Express way and you're there.

I wasn't keen to go yesterday, I'd been planning to leave it till the second half of July, but the memsahib insisted.

On the plus side I did get a nice lunch in a real Italian cafe. There is a reconstructed one in the museum but I used a fully functioning establishment in Byre's Rd. They don't seem to care about it being a museum piece and neither do I.

Went yesterday.

We parked outside the old museum because the Expressway was full of cars waiting to get in. This meant we used the Expressway underpass to gain access. There are three bikes on the mural. A man in a top hat on an Ordinary has a cable actuated brake. The other two bikes have their chains on the left hand side.

Almost all of the bikes are hanging off the ceiling where you can barely see them. You can tell they are bikes but that's about all.

Most of the ships are in one big case and for about half of them you can see the bottom of the hull but not the deck.

Most of the cars are on a Wall of Cars so you can see the bottom tier but above that you can see the suspension and inside of the wheel arches.

There was already a leak which resulted in a bucket on the floor inside the back door.

It's nice being beside the river.
