Best of all, perhaps there could be a line, best or worst carve up, was the other day when approaching the pedestrian crossing on which there was a pedestrian, so I slowed down to let them cross, only to be overtaken on my outside, necessitating the driver to swerve in to avoid hitting the traffic island, at the crossing causing the pedestrian to jump out of the way, only for the car to turn immediately left, without indicating, to drop someone off outside the main front door. Unbelievable. I don't plan routes to follow them, but when my commute coincides with a lower speed zone, it is noticeably less stressful.</p> <p>According to my GPS, lothian buses from the southside to Leith average around 11mph, including stops.
