Filter (whether on left or right) to reasonably near the front - as soon as there's a big enough gap between a couple of vehicles for me to stop in.</p> <p>Every now and then, usually when I know the sequence, I'll take a chance on getting to the front before the lights go green. 99 times out of 100 it's absolutely fine. Glad you're okay. I don't usually do right-hand filters unless I can clearly see traffic lights and know they're not going to change soon, especially with passenger in seat, but, like you, took a chance this morning at holy corner, and JUST as I was slipping into ASL red box around bonnet of car, the lights changed....not nice, but I got away with it.
