If the average speed is set by caravans travelling at 40 or 50 for miles you could still get people overtaking at 80 and not exceeding an average of 60. Speed Cameras work, really really well, and perfect for things such as roadworks where you are trying to protect people...</p> <p>...but just still find them a wee bit creepy. Av speed certainly do seem to work, both cases,(A77 and A/M80 ) but why only on restricted speed sections ? Why not on 70 mph sections ? Camera technology already exists to differentiate between different classes of vehicles, lorry bus, car, which have different max speed limits on a particular road . Its annoying when you do exit an av speed controled zone, the mases just seem to think that the limit has increased to 500mph again !<br /> Was back at work yesterday and back on the road,hgv mode.
