Then later on they appear to have used more and more Reynolds 531, so your right, ~2005 does appear to be a good vintage. Other Dawes I've seen have the skinny diagonal tubes, and appear to be pre 2003. That might help you work out if it's Super or Ultra.</p> <p>I think from the Dawes website, they use the same frame, but the Ultra has a higher-spec drive train (Deore XT and Sugino cranks) than the Super (Deore LX).</p> <p>Othere things that might help determine the age are if it has a straight top-tube or compact. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=3762#post-39494 Mon, 29 Aug 2011 12:06:49 +0000 DaveC 39494@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>I bought the bike Second hand at Christmas from a friend and its always had a Reynolds 853 sticker on. Then when searching for others on Ebay I only found 531 for the 'plain' Galaxy doe to the decal. So I looked at 853 and found lots of new Ultra and Super Galaxy. Can anyone help me ID my model please? I'm thinking about its value for the insurance. I don't want to undervalue the bike.</p> <p>Cheers,<br /> Dave C </p>
