That would be a really neat trick to be fully in control of your bike whilst texting. How old was she, should not have been on the pavement in any case if not a child. Double or triple fail on her part in that case.

..was the girl who brushed me as she cycled along the pavement while texting. I was pushing my bike and walking my youngest to her Skool Is Out club. I suppose to be fair I wasnt getting out of her way, but i dont think (given that she managed to hit me, and yes I was wearing Hi Viz) she was in full control of her bike. I had hoped that the 20 mph zone would have reduced the number of numpties but that's a near miss and two strikes this week.

... was me. Well riding any way.

Struggling down Whitson Road grinding out about 10 mph in the left hand lane as I approached the lights at the Junction with Balgreen intending to turn right but I was still to the left working out the best time to move across. Chap behind me is sitting back giving me plenty of space, when I finally move across he filters into the left lane to turn. I wave an apology for needlessly holding him up, I should have been across by this point. As he gets to the junction the lights change he throws his arm in frustration, at that moment I assumed to be me, he then waves again in apology for his frustration just as I was about to begin some other forms of non verbal communication.

Sorry my man I missed judged you.

(ooops I thought that was the on going "Todays rubbish driving" thread...)

No damage to me, but the mudguard needs a wee bit of work.

Yes it's a horrible roundabout - which road were you approaching it from?

I was riding the posh bike today, and the rear mudguard is slightly mangled. It was just coming up for its 4000 mile birthday, too.

At least my brand new rear light (which was switched on and flashing at the time) survived. I lost its predecessor on holiday last week.

I really dislike that roundabout. Twice before I've been hit from behind while waiting to enter it, and I've been T-boned once while actually on it. Every time has been when crossing, rather than following, the A71.

I was waiting first in line to enter the big roundabout of the A71/Longstone Rd/Saughton Rd, and the car driver behind me must've seen a gap and decided to go without checking the road in front was clear. Crunch. The driver gesticulated a frantic 'sorry! sorry!' when I turned around.

I've logged the incident with L&BP, for what it's worth.

I had that bad gut feeling the moment I was out of bed this morning. For some reason I had it in my head to make sure I had my phone turned on for camera and voice recorder before I left the house. Then I forgot all about it over breakfast.
