"Telephoto lens?"

Yup.

How else can you make sense of the stuff on the high shelves and non-moving bike carousel?!

Oh and to make better sense might involve Photoshop...

Thought this one was a Carlton when I first spotted it. Various models of a similar age with white panels and chrome bits.

A classic 'wot bikes should like'.

They have a key on the floor but it's sort of like a flattish chute so kids play on it. It's not easy to relate to the bikes on the ceiling.

When I was there last week the wall of boats was broken as was the trade winds game.

DaveC, just remember that when you leave the Science Centre car park, you do need to prepay to get a token for the barrier. Motorists next in line tend to get very impatient very quickly when you suddenly need to do a three-point-turn to get out of the queue to try again. :-(

I've cycled a lot in that area, and find it quite relaxing to ride from Queen St station down to the bottom of Buchanan Street and past St Enoch Centre, across Clyde St and onto the riverside path all the way to Bells Bridge and the like. As weefolding says, the path gets a bit twisty once at the helicopters.

Riverside has bike racks designed by the same clown as did the building. They are all at slightly different angles because straight isn't good enough anymore.

You need to ride along some sets between the helicopter and the Riverside. There seems to be a cleansing depot there so look out for midgie motors. I've walked and cycled it with boys. It can be a bit muddy so mudguards are wise even on kids bikes.

"does it have secure cycle parking?"

Depends on your definition -

So checking this out on Google Streetview, etc.. (other maping devices avaiable).

We're going to park for 3 pounds in the Glasgow Science Centre (and perhaps visit - its rather expensive) then walk , over the river on a Ped,. bridge (exciting for boys), along the river and past the Scottish Ambulance Helecopter (exciting for boys), to the Transport Museum as its, free and more importantly exciting for boys (all things above equally exciting for girls too, but) I'll report back on Josie's exitedness.

Then (as we parked on the south side of the bridge) pop along the M8 and visit Braehead shopping complex and Cycle shoppingness... :D

I'm tempted to let the boys cycle to the Transport Museum, does it have secure cycle parking?

This is normally chdot's role but Cyclestreets makes it look straightforward; http://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/1140823/
I usually walk from Waterside to Queen Street along the riverside.

If I was to visit The Riverside Museum, The Science Centre and Evans, could all this be done (safely) cycling along the river? We have two boys 3 & 4.5 years. Would it be easier to drive from one to the other?

Oh looks like the riverside Museum is on the north bank...

Cheers
