Hi all - after my partial success in writing to the Neighbourhood Partnership manager I would suggest that this might be a mre direct and possibly fruitful way of reporting potholes and obvious road/cycling hazards. Here are the contact details:

Almond & West
Natalie Hoy
West Neighbourhood Manager
0131 469 5198

Leith & City Centre
Mike Penny
City Centre Neighbourhood Manager
0131 529 7766

Forth & Inverleith
Peter Strong
North Neighbourhood Manager
0131 529 5005

South & Liberton & Gilmerton – Craigentinny & Duddingston
Sarah Burns
South Neighbourhood Manager
0131 529 7662

Pentlands & South West
Mike Avery
South West Neighbourhood Manager
0131 527 3801

Portobello and Craigmillar -
Jim Hunter
East Neighbourhood Manager
0131 529 7185

All these staff can be contacted directly by addressing the emails to first name dot second name@edinburgh.gov.uk.

Clearly stating that there is a hazard, and in my instance, providing a photo meant that they sent out someone to fill in the first pothole with some tar. The secound one is a collaped drain and I am supposing that it is more difficult/costly to repair. I am monitoring the second one and will drop Mike Penny another email shortly.

I emailed Sarah Burns yesterday 10.25 and noted on the way home 17.05 a temporary repair had been carried out. Although not finished the whole had been partially filled in with a quantity of tar. The second hazard had not been touched as it means altering a drain.

Has anyone else passed the large pot hole outside the widows building? I have reported this to the relevant parties in the council. In addition to the email I have sent photos and a screen-grab of the area from satellite map. This is a particularly dangerous hazard as it is on the cycling line that runs alongside the white line that delinates the filter lane to Holyrood Park. As the bus lane is timed a lot of vechicles jump into this lane of the juction which could force you to vere left into the filter land to Holyrood Park. The clock is now ticking to see how long it takes to make this hazard safe.
