I've been through a two or three sets of EBC/Revolution frames, and consequently have a collection of spare lenses.

Currently using Madison Wishbones (£35 - 3 sets of lenses), which are more robust.

I had a cheap EBC pair break at the nose. I would go for dear ones but as I say I'd just lose them [why I never went for Raybans despite looking soooo cool in them ha ha]. O only bought the LIDL cheap ones because a chap next to me insisted they were a bargain that could not be ignored [so long as you ignore the poor wee chinese kids]. Not broken yet after one season

I have 3 pairs break on me in the last 2 years. One (very cheap swappable lens) broke on the rim quite possibly connected with lens changes. With another (expensive Specialized Reactolites) the plastic broke in the hinge (may be repairable but haven't worked out how). These were a few years old. The final pair (EBC swappable lens) snapped in the arm (with little provacation I might say) within 4 months of purchase.

It seems that cycling glasses need to be quite robust to be fit for purpose. I use them daily and often put them in the rear pocket whilst cycling if it starts to rain.

I have a pair of LIDL sunglasses - £3.49. Tangerine lens. I woudn't swap the colour I have an endura clear pair. I would buy another pair and put the smoke lens in. The swapping of the lens is what breaks the cheap products. Obvioulsy not factored in cost of poor wee chinese kids. If I bought dearer ones (the endura were only £15) I would just lose them. Lots of flies in eyes at moment without specs.

Don't tell thebikechain that. We'll never have any sales. BTW, I do think we're going to have an unseasonably warm winter. Any chance of a chance of a sale of longs?

I'll second Tom's recommendation for Kuota sunglasses. I bought a pair last Christmas for Mr MeepMeep at around £25. Considering they've had daily use since then, countless lens swaps, rough handling and have been through an accident, the frames have been forgiving enough to take it all without fracturing and the lenses have been great for any condition, apparently. I think they came with five different lenses...

I have to admit that, given the price, I really didn't expect them to last as long as they have done so far but I've been pleasantly surprised.

When I wear protective glasses I generally wear "ESS ICE" http://www.esseyepro.com/ICE-2.4-Eyeshield_24_detail.html ok they're not cycling specific, and I was given them by work (so don't tell the boss!), but they're comfier, lighter and more protective than the cheapy cycling glasses I have so I just keep using them... don't know how available they are to buy, but they're good!

I use Adidas Evil Eyes, they have a range of lenses (I have reflective sunglass / clear / yellow night tint) but the price is at the higher end - however because I needed a pair with a prescription insert there isn't a huge range available and nothing at the cheaper end of price range. Very though though, perhaps due somewhat to flexibility of frame, which makes it less likely to snap - with multiple click-stop positions of the legs (in 2 dimensions) and bridge to accomodate different face shapes.

Any recommendations for good sunglasses? Need to have reasonably robust frames (last two broke with little provocation), not too expensive and have multiple lenses including clear.
