If half of those trips and one third of car trips of 10-15 km are transferred to bicycles, the bicycle market share would rise to approx. 45 %." Aarhus had 27% and Copenhagen 36% modal share for cycling. For comparison Amsterdam was at 22%.</p> <p>Let's assume that those figures may have increased by a fair amount since then in Denmark at least, maybe 33%, and 45% respectively. Another 50% of each would give 49.5% and 67.5% respectively!</p> <p>Or am I just hopelessly optimistic about the current modal shares?</p> <p>Edinburgh is on, what? 2%?
