It was a brave and bold attempt to make a business out of the fickle world of skateboarding and BMX. </p> <p>In spite of the fact that boarders and bikers are usually young and seldom well off, it worked.</p> <p><a href="http://cyclingedinburgh.info/2009/04/20/edinburgh-bike-video-runaway-success/">The activities of local boy Danny MacAskill</a> made the tricks and skills visible to a wide world and created imitators and aspirers. </p> <p>It is perhaps no coincidence that part of runaway You Tube success was due to the excellent camerawork and filmmaking of Dave Sowerby.</p> <p>Dave was involved in the design of the facility in Leith - and <a href="http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=706">the later one at Saughton</a>.
