...it's why black and silver/plain metal are the only proper colours for a bike.

My little recumbent is black, with black brakes, black cranks, silver rims, and silver hubs; the monstrousbike is silver with silver brakes, silver cranks, black rims and black hubs. All part of the plan. :)

Beige and chestnut. I used to drive an old Humber estate car back in the early 1980s with that colour scheme: beige on the outside, chestnut trim on the inside. The car was mid-1970s manufacture.

Anyway, looks quite nice in a retro stylee. Next you need a golfing cap with matching leather trim, some old school driving gloves, 'sport' shirt (subtle check pattern), tweed tie, under a beige tank top (maybe Pringle?) and brown cord plus fours. Brown leather brogues over Pringle diamond pattern socks. Dapper!

Folk are right about those stays: they need a good trim.

I have a bit of a colorscheme going on with the fleet, I like the black and silver. I want to see a better picture of Anths before I decide if I like it or not, the spokes look nice..

@fashionistas, it's why black and silver/plain metal are the only proper colours for a bike, the matching is done properly, not like some with non matching brake pads, tyres etc ;-p

"Can I take it from this that there are people who don't colour match tape, saddles, cables, accessories etc etc? I find the very thought utterly preposterous."

My thoughts exactly.

Got me there Min, I've just never managed to get 'guards matching before. As for cable outers... Well, I do know where I can get some.

Oh, and the stays will be getting cut back, they're ridiculously long!

Is Planet-X a British company?

While Bike Rader calls the colour scheme 'sandy' and 'coffee', you could go for the more retro Triumph shades of Jonquil and Russet Brown.

Could do with a couple of wee flags on the stays incase you take an eye out when bending down to inspect wheel or derailleur

Kinky stuff eh? I'm sure there are other forums for that sort of thing..

Anyway what do you mean "caught", you've been colour matching all your bike bits for ages. Don't try to deny it.

Not my choice of colours, but nice to see it is well used/needs washing ;-)
Have you found a source for coffee coloured cable guides though for the full Kaputnik vibe....?

I appear to have caught the colour-matching bug, with a set of new mudguards...

New Broon Guards by blackpuddinonnabike, on Flickr

Guards made by 'Vavert', and I have to say they've gone on a bit more easily, and fit better, than the (silver) SKS ones that came off. And there's a bonus reflector! ;)
