I did enquire after sitting my finals if I could come back but the initial treachery of resigning and the far superior talents of Jim Murphy meant there was no room for Gembo. This may explain my prejudice against Jim. I noticed his major impact when he went to Westminster was to organise the 5 a-side football competitions. Having said all that, I think he ousted a Tory called Allan Stewart (?) who had elaborate sideburns and walked around Eastwood with flintlocks. The driver looked straight through me for quite some time before the lights changed.
