Oxford and Edinburgh are the only two UK cities I have cycled in for extended periods (8-10 years in each). But I am not at all sure how much they have to learn from each other. </p> <p>Gordon Maclean seems to try hard, and has responded sensibly to my various attempts to engage him*, but I think he has other things on his mind...</p> <p>*at the meeting he told us how many miles of cyclelanes had been created. The Council supplement is on the active travel plan and has what looks like a useful map of the key routes and when CEC will be looking to upgrade them.
