"Don't be too sure. Some of the new ones at Waverley are a triumph of minaturisation."

Folding bikes will be fine then...

"Russell Rd still in tact but that will be compromised when the bridge is installed"

Still no date for start of work and NO info about 'arrangements' for ped/bike access during work - may be steps...

Took the Haymarket Yards route to Tynie today - big fence where tramlines will be and fair bit of rubble dug up. End of N.Ed cycle path at Russell Rd still in tact but that will be compromised when the bridge is installed or whatever they end up doing. Big sign saying Site Access but no real Site to Access as yet and no sign of lorries.

7 bikes in staff shed at Tynie today and 4 pupils bikes. This is a record.

Plan is for a ramp where Caley Ale House used to be + a bridge over Russell Road. But I've never actually looked at the plans to see if a parallel path is planned or whether the idea is to continue with the current (less than ideal) route along Haymarket Yards and Balbirnie.

chris - you mean after the tram line goes in, will we still be able to cycle that path to Russell Road? That I do not know. You said in previous thread a bridge would then be needed, is that for definite?

I'm with you now - thought you were referring to fact that it used to be possible to get in on platform 1 from the car park.

I presume the lifts will be more than big enough to take bikes.

Anyone know about cycling by tram line between Station and Russell Road?

Sorry. They mention two lifts, which I presume will get non-foldy bikes up and down. In previous thread had discussed my diff in getting bike (esp if loaded) up and downstairs. Obviously some of you super-macho folk with superlightweight bikes don't have these problems. But for the rest of us, lifts may well make life as a bicyclist/train-rider a wee bit easier.
