Managed to secure my diy flaps by extending a tab up to the bolt securing the mudguard stays. Cheap, effective and required no skill whatsoever! Might just be able to make it out on the second photo of this post

Thanks for all the advice - particularly Smudge's kind offer of a 'riveting' at PY. The old bit of lino was attached by pushing a hot nail through the chromoplastic to make a small hole and then bolting it on. So attaching the new bodge should be fine using the existing hole :-)

I could bring a pop rivet gun (and rivets) to PY with a little warning. Just tell me roughly what size you want I'll tell you what size to drill the holes and we can attach it on the spot :-)

somebody (amir I think) mentioned the other day that he got a cheapo staple / rivet gun or something from lidl which allowed him to secure his home made mudflap on?

I cut a mudguard extension from a plastic milk carton, wrapped it in black duct tape and it stayed put for about a year and a half :-)

Last week my mudguard flap decided to depart company with my front mudguard. It was a square of linoleum a colleague gave me at work. Very effective at keeping all the crude of me and the bike.
Now my shoes and shins are covered in mud everyday. Any forummers have ideas for a replacemnt mudguard flap bodge?
